My name is Tianna Teixeira, and I am incredibly excited and honored to serve my community as the Principal of Baker Early Learning Center!

It feels especially meaningful to step into this role because Baker Early Learning Center, previously known as North Baker Elementary, is the very building where I spent much of my own elementary school years. It was in this building, as a young student, that I first realized I wanted to become a teacher. I’m so proud to say, I did it! And now, coming back to this same building as the Principal feels like a very special full-circle moment.

After high school, I pursued my teaching degree through Eastern Oregon University. Then, I continued my education and went on to earn my Master of Education degree from Concordia University. After nine years in the classroom, I decided to continue growing as an educator and pursued my Principal license through Lewis & Clark College. I completed my program this July and am excited to begin my 11th year in education.

Most importantly, I am thrilled to be back in Baker with my family and to have the opportunity to give my own children the same kind of wonderful childhood experiences that made this community so special to me.

I am looking forward to getting to know our students, families, and my staff, whom I had the pleasure of working with last year as a kindergarten teacher. I feel incredibly fortunate to be coming home to serve the community that helped shape who I am today.
